Rouchotas Apartments are owned by the Rouchotas family, one of the oldest families on the island and one of 432 families who, due to their influence and work, had their oikosimo, the coat of arms. Also called parlata – those who speak, through different colors and symbols, the coat of arms tell the story of the family and its influence on the island.
This is our story
The shape of the lions shows us that the coat of arms dates from 1719, during the rule of the Venetian Republic and the feudal system of government. From the shape of the crown, it can be seen that the ancient ancestor had the title of duke, as well as the castle and his army. The two lions symbolize two war victories, power, bravery and generosity, but the red color of the tongue means that the title was obtained after death. In Kefalonia, his descendants settled on the Paliki peninsula, near the town of Lixouri. Today, these coats of arms do not symbolize wealth, but are only a witness of a previous time.
Our family has been involved in tourism for many years, starting with the taverna of our grandfather Spyros, which has been the center of all important events in the city for over 40 years.
Since 2015, we have been continuously awarded high marks by Booking.com.

Certainly, our favorite is the Traveler Review 2021 award as proof that despite all the challenges we have provided outstanding hospitality and that our hard work has helped guests feel safe, relaxed and make the most of their holiday.
Spend your summer in our family house. Come and see for yourself our hospitality!
